Great Body Massage for a Stiff and Sore Body

A natural remedy for aching body parts like stiff necks, tight muscles and other human conditions like sleeplessness, stress, anxiety and general tension is a body massage. A massage is very helpful as it’s very relaxing and soothing. With body massage the main component is to use touch on a person so they feel the soothing effects which help enhance their physical and emotional well being. Human touch is something we all need and crave in life and massage helps foster happiness and assists in improving the quality of our life overall.

What about the feet, legs, shoulders, hands?
 
A body massage normally concentrates on the back and primarily on the shoulders. With the shoulders, massage is effective in relieving stiffness in the neck area and shoulders, and can also improve the body posture. The masseur or person giving the massage will touch and massage the shoulders, the neck area and then work their way down the spine and around the back area which will aid in relieving stress, tension and tightness leading to a relaxing process for the person and for their body.

Although most people carry stress and tension in the neck, shoulder and back area another part of the body that requires a body massage is the legs, as they endure a lot of strain throughout the day. As well as the legs the feet need to be massaged and exercised along with the legs as both need to be invigorated as this assists the entire body in restoring its balance. Most people have never had a foot massage and don’t realize how enjoyable they can be and what makes it really enjoyable is when the massage is offered from someone close to you.  Placing the feet in warn water for 15 minutes and then giving them a massage of circular movements along each foot followed by stroking and rubbing of the ankle will normally restore the lower limbs back to a very relaxed balanced state.

To give the body a full body massage we next need to include the hands. We use our hands constantly throughout the day so it’s important to use massage to relax and relieve them of stress and strain. What works best is stroking the whole hand area as well as squeezing and pulling slightly on the fingers. Stroking the whole hand as well as squeezing helps the tightness around the joints. Try and bend the fingers backwards and then rotate in circular movement and gentle massage the knuckle areas as well.

After doing the back area we move to the front so we can massage the abdomen. Massage to the abdomen is great for helping to improve digestion. It can also stimulate weight loss and proper digestion. It is recommended to knead the stomach area at the waist from side to side as well as giving the intestine area small circular rubs. Kneading both sides builds balance and improves the general well being of the person.

Every day of our lives our bodies are subjected to large amounts of stress and strain and a great body massage will go a long way in relieving the soreness, tension and stiffness as well as provide a sense of relaxation and general well being. A massage is one of those nice exercises which can enhance our sense of self.
